Annabelle Vericker

Annabelle Vericker, age 97, of North Pekin, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Paisley Manor in Pekin.

She was born on March 12, 1928, in rural Montgomery County, Illinois, the daughter of Paul and Elsie Mae (Jackson) Delahunt. Annabelle married Clement Vericker in 1947, and he preceded her in death in 1986.

Annabelle is survived by her sons, Clement Vericker of St. Pete Beach, Florida; Butch (Sandy) Vericker, her daughter, Barbara (Jim) Vericker of Washington State; her grandchildren, Ben Van Winkle, John Vericker, David Vericker, Andrew Vericker, Joseph Clagett, and Hunter Clagett; six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Donna Arkebauer of Nokomis, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, Robert Vericker, Steve Vericker, her brothers, Homer Delahunt, Robert Delahunt, and Charles Delahunt; and her sister, Mary McKee and Daughter in law, Sherry.

Annabelle was a woman of many talents and a generous heart. She loved flowers and took great joy in gardening, finding peace in nurturing the beauty around her. She was a die-hard cubs fan and an avid reader, she was rarely without a book. She was known by her family as an immaculate and devoted caregiver, always tending lovingly to those she cared for.

In her working years, Annabelle was first employed at the American Distillery, a place she truly enjoyed and took great pride in. She later worked as a baker, a role that perfectly reflected her patience, skill, and love of providing for others. Outside of work, she was highly creative and enjoyed looming and making rugs, crocheting, and crafting, filling her home and the homes of loved ones with handmade treasures.

Annabelle will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and unwavering devotion to family will live on in the hearts of many.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis, Illinois. Funeral services will follow immediately at 12:00 noon, with Gene Delahunt officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
